The SafeReads project is a collaboration between Dolphin Computer Access and the Institute of Education.
Dolphin Team Members
Noel Duffy – Project Director
Noel is the Managing Director of Dolphin Computer Access, which specialises in software development for users with both visual impairments and dyslexia. He has overall responsibility for the direction of the project.
Suzanne Hamilton – Project Management
Suzanne is a Senior Project Manager at Dolphin Computer Access, and is responsible for the day to day Project Management of the Safe Reads project.
Simon Kitchen – Technical Lead
Simon is the product brand manager for dyslexia products at Dolphin. He is responsible for the system integration as well as supporting school technical issues and IP protection.
Richard Orme – Exploitation Lead
Richard works for Dolphin on building innovative products and solutions aimed users with print disabilities. He is responsible for exploitation planning.
Institute of Education (IoE) Team Members
Daniel is a post-doctoral researcher at the London Knowledge Lab. His research interests include the involvement of participants in the design of technologies they will use. He is responsible for supporting the involvement of teachers, parents and students in the design of the SafeReads tool.
Yvonne Griffiths – Pedagogical Lead
Yvonne is a lecturer in Psychology and Special Education in the Dept. of Psychology and Human Development at the IOE and is an expert on dyslexia. She is responsible for providing the pedagogical expertise on teaching and learning for pupils with dyslexia.
Kaska Porayska-Pomsta – Artificial Intelligence (AI) Lead
Kaska is a reader in adaptive technologies for learning at the London Knowledge Lab and has extensive experience in researching, designing and building technology-enhanced learning environment for real classroom use. She is responsible for the AI strategy in the project.
Mina Vasalou – Design Lead
Mina is a lecturer at the London Knowledge Lab and has extensive experience in designing learning technologies using participatory methods that involve end users and stakeholders in design decisions as well as industry experience in interaction design and UX consulting. She is responsible for the design strategy and stakeholder engagement activities.
